Welcome to our 2012 NHC Judging page!
Simply put, the National Homebrew Competition is the largest homebrew competition in the world. NHC 2011 had a record-setting year, with 6,996 entries from a total of 1,650 brewers! Our judging center maxed out with 750 registered entries. This year we expect to fill up once again, and will need all of our judges' support to successfully judge the expected massive number of entries, and provide the quality of judging our entrants deserve.
There will be a few changes in our region's First Round judging this year, including a new judging location. For 2012, the judging will be held at Handles Gastropub in downtown Pleasanton, CA (http://handlesgastropub.com/). Handles specializes in combining first class local food and beer, with a seasonal "farm to table" approach. They will be providing a fantastic Judges' Lunch each day of the competition, and we think our judges, stewards, and staff will enjoy their hospitality and ambiance.
